City is an interesting material for study.
It’s amazing to see our changing cityscapes!
The topography of South Indian states has drastically changed these days. Perhaps a result of North American companies realizing the profit of outsourcing work to Third world professionals. The cityscape has now been strewn with hoardings of the latest in mobile technology, banners of Desktop Printing kiosks, a competing range of internet cafés, huge hoardings, massive glass walled architectures and shopping malls….

The corollary could be true too. Possession of ATM cards and mobile phones and the sense of identification with massive hoardings of consumables makes me connected to the city life as well.
Global software industry does provide relief and an opportunity to be part of the global time for many upper and middle class/caste youth. I guess somebody has already theorized how India has got two different time zones now: one of national and the other global. It is too literal in the case of call centre professionals, whose working schedule matches less with Indian Standard Time, and more with that of other countries. Flexible embodiment as an American Executive during night and an Indian citizen during daytime…..is that so simple?
Yes,
But the Outsourcing to India have given lot of job oppurtunities and added to the economy of India …
I feel someway india is benefitted by the Global Outsourcing…
Abhi
Yes, of course, India did benefit from outsourcing…..no doubt about that. The cityscape is a testimony to that. I wouldnt want that to stop as well.
