Mahanavami dibba – All early travelogues mention how the king used to sit here on the stone-studded gold throne to receive annual rent from all his provinces. Could have been a marvellous wooden hall to show pomp and pride, where 9 days of celebration went on with parades, dances and performances. There were invited foriegn dignitaries for this special celebration, now translated to Mysore Dasara festival.
